Setting up a Google account on your device

Setting up a Google account on your device makes a range of Google apps and services available, such as Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube, and Google Play. The set-up screen for a Google account will appear as necessary, such as when you launch an app that requires a Google account. A Google account enables you to do the following.

  • Download and install apps on Google Play.
  • Synchronize your email, contacts, and calendar using Gmail.
  • Back up, restore, and transfer your data.
  • Synchronize your browsing history and bookmarks using the Chrome browser.
  • Remotely find, lock, or clear a lost or stolen device using the Find My Device services.

  1. Find and tap as follows.
    [Settings]
    > [Passwords, passkeys & accounts]
    > [Add account] > [Google]
  2. Follow the on-screen instructions to create a Google account, or sign in if you already have an account.
