Switching the power source

You can select the power source to use when you connect the player to an AC power source. There are 2 options: the built-in rechargeable battery (battery power), and AC power.

Battery power is free from interference by usage conditions. Select battery power for a cleaner power signal and higher audio quality.

  1. Tap on the information area ().

  2. Select [Battery] or [AC].

To use battery power preferentially

The player can power on with battery power, even while the AC adaptor (supplied) is connected. Tap the menu items in the following order to add a check mark.

– [Settings] – [Device Settings] ([Basic Settings]) – [Battery Preferred].


Even when you select [Battery Preferred], charging will start if the following conditions are met.

  • The AC adaptor is connected to the player.
  • You do not operate the player for 15 minutes while you have paused playback on the player.

If you operate the player, the player will run on battery power again.

Note

  • The power source automatically switches to AC power when the following conditions are met.

    • The battery has become depleted while the player is running on battery power.
    • The AC adaptor is connected to the player.
  • The power source automatically switches to AC power when you connect the AC adaptor.
