About the sound quality mode

The following 3 modes during Bluetooth playback can be selected. You can change the settings and check the sound quality mode with the “Sony | Sound Connect” app.

Prioritize Sound Quality: Prioritizes the sound quality.

Prioritize Stable Connection: Prioritizes the stable connection (default).

Low latency: Connect with low latency.

  • When you want to prioritize the sound quality, select [Prioritize Sound Quality].
  • If the connection is unstable, such as when producing only intermittent sound, select [Prioritize Stable Connection].
  • If you want a low-latency connection, select [Low latency].

Note

  • [Low latency] is not displayed in the following cases.
    • When using a connected device that does not support LE Audio or Xperia 1 IV/5 IV
    • When the “Sony | Sound Connect” app and headset software are not up-to-date
  • The maximum playback time may be shorter in the [Prioritize Sound Quality] mode and the [Low latency] mode.
  • Depending on the ambient conditions in the area where you are using the headset, intermittent sound may still occur even if [Prioritize Stable Connection] is selected.
  • [Low latency] mode focuses on low latency, resulting in a lower connection stability compared to [Prioritize Sound Quality] mode and [Prioritize Stable Connection] mode. If you experience sound stuttering due to poor reception, switch to [Prioritize Stable Connection] mode.
  • [Low latency] mode is an LE Audio connection. To connect using LE Audio, refer to “Pairing and connecting with an Android smartphone using LE Audio ” for details.
