Updating the Walkman system software

You can update the software of the Walkman.

You will receive update notices by the following methods.

  • From Music Center for PC (You will receive update notices automatically.)
  • From the customer support website (Access the site manually to receive update notices.)

Access the customer support website to get the latest information.

The following procedure describes how to update the software from the customer support website.

For details on how to install the program, refer to the customer support website.

  1. Download the update program to a computer from the website.
  2. Connect the Walkman to the computer.
  3. Launch the update program.
  4. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Hint

  • To check the version information for the Walkman, connect the Walkman to a computer. Then, open “Information.txt” in the [WALKMAN] folder on the computer. You can check the following information.
    • 01: Model name
    • 02: System software version
