Setting up a Google account on your device
Setting up a Google account on your device makes a range of Google apps and services available, such as Gmail, Google Maps, YouTube, and Google Play. The set-up screen for a Google account will appear as necessary, such as when you launch an app that requires a Google account. A Google account enables you to do the following:
- Download and install apps on Google Play.
- Synchronize your email, contacts, and calendar using Gmail.
- Back up, restore, and transfer your data.
- Synchronize your browsing history and bookmarks using the Chrome browser.
- Remotely find, lock, or clear a lost or stolen device using the Find My Device services.

Find and tap [Settings] > [Passwords & accounts] > [Add account] > [Google].
