Installing 5.1-channel speaker system with Zone 3 connection

To fully enjoy theater-like multi-channel surround sound, you need five speakers (two front speakers, a center speaker, and two surround speakers) and a subwoofer. You can also enjoy the audio in another location (“Zone 3”) by connecting additional Zone 3 speakers. For example, you can watch a DVD in the main zone and listen to a CD in Zone 3.

Illustration showing the position of each speaker for installation. For the main zone, install each speaker on a circumference with the listening position as the center point. The subwoofer does not have to be on the circumference and can be installed anywhere. For Zone 3 left and right speakers, install them symmetrically in front of the listener in Zone 3.

Angle at which each speaker is placed from the line connecting the listening position and the center speaker (0 degrees)

Front speakers: 30°

Surround speakers: 100-120°

Hint

  • As the subwoofer does not emit highly directional signals, you can place it wherever you want.
