Input sounds are distorted.

  • The MIC/LINE INPUT LEVEL switch or the XLR/TRS INPUT LEVEL switch is in the wrong position. Slide it to the position appropriate for the sound source and connections.

  • Adjust the recording volume to a level in an appropriate range.

  • If the sound source are extremely loud when recording with the built-in microphones or an external microphone, try one of the following.

    • Adjust the recording volume by turning the REC LEVEL dial.

    • Slide the MIC ATT switch to [20].

    • Move the microphone away from the sound source.

  • When recording audio from the connected external device, the input audio includes extremely loud segments. Decrease the output volume of the connected external device to a level where no distortion would occur.
