[Pro] mode overview

In the [Pro] mode, you can shoot still images by selecting a shooting mode from among P (Program auto), S (Shutter speed priority), and M (Manual exposure).

The interface switches automatically, so you can use the camera both vertically and horizontally.

  1. Tap to switch the shooting mode.

    P (Program auto) / S (Shutter speed priority) / M (Manual exposure)

  2. Flash status

    Tap to switch the flash setting between Off and On (fill flash) or Off and AUTO (auto flash). The background color of the flash icon turns white when the flash activates.

  3. Data storage icon/Amount of free space/Image size/File format/Geotagging status/HDR status

    To select an aspect ratio, tap [MENU] > [Shooting] > [Aspect ratio], and then select an option. (4:3 (12MP) / 3:2 (10MP) / 16:9 (9MP) / 1:1 (9MP))

  4. Bluetooth remote commander connection status icons/Battery status/ (Heat caution icon)

  5. Tap to change more detailed settings.

  6. Use the volume button to zoom in or out.

  7. Tap one of the angle buttons to switch angles of view.

    To zoom in or out on the image, tap the angle button again, and then slide it to the left and right (in the portrait orientation) or up and down (in the landscape orientation).

    You can also zoom in or out on the image by pinching in or out on the viewfinder or by pressing the volume button.

  8. Shutter speed/Aperture value/Exposure compensation/ISO sensitivity

    You can change the value by tapping the underlined setting.

  9. Dial

    You can change the value by tapping the underlined setting displayed above the dial (in the portrait orientation) or at the bottom of the viewfinder (in the landscape orientation).

    • P: Adjust the exposure value (EV) and select the ISO value.
    • S: Select the shutter speed and adjust the exposure value (EV).
    • M: Select the shutter speed and ISO value.
  10. Tap to open the function menu.

    You can adjust frequently used settings.

    To re-assign or re-order the setting items in the function menu, tap [MENU] > [Setup] > [Function menu customization].

  11. Use the shutter button to launch the Camera app or shoot images.

  12. Tap to show or hide information displayed in the viewfinder.

    The histogram represents the luminance distribution graphically.

    The level meter helps you to measure the angle of the device and keep the picture horizontal. When your device senses that it is level, the level meter turns green. To calibrate the standard for the horizontal plane to fix deviations in the direction of tilt, tap [MENU] > [Setup] > [Level calibration].

    To customize the items that are displayed when you tap [DISP], tap [MENU] > [Setup] > [DISP button customization].

  13. Select a mode.

    Swipe left or right to find the desired mode.

  14. Tap the thumbnail to view still images and videos in the Google Photos app.

    Tap (Share icon) to share a still image or a video, or (Edit icon) to edit it. To hide or show icons, tap the screen.

    Tap (Back button) to return to the Camera app.

  15. Use the shutter button to shoot images.

  16. Focus indicator

    (Continuous AF icon) indicates that the focusing is in progress when [Continuous AF] is selected.

    (Continuous AF icon) indicates that the subject is in focus when [Continuous AF] is selected. The focus will be adjusted continuously according to the movements of the subject.

    (Auto focus icon) indicates that the subject is in focus.
