Precautions

Use of this product

  • Avoid using this product in a location with strong odors.
  • If the released odorants remain inside the room, ventilate the room.
  • Be sure to use authorized products for custom cartridges, sub-cartridges, cartridge clampers, nose guides, and odorant release port covers, which are sold separately.
  • Do not use any adapters other than the supplied AC adapter.
  • Do not block the exhaust port on the rear of the unit. If the exhaust port is blocked, it will become unable to deodorize the unit and may stop working correctly.

Handling of personal information

  • Personal information, answer results, and other data recorded by the “Scent Canvas” app are stored on the dedicated tablet. Please handle such data with sufficient care.
  • The personal information, answer results, and other data recorded by the “Scent Canvas” app are not encrypted. Please beware of data leakage via the USB port of the dedicated tablet or unauthorized access by third parties over the Internet.

Heat generation

The dedicated tablet may heat up during operation. Wait until the temperature decreases before using the tablet.

Handling custom cartridges (sold separately) and sub-cartridge sets (sold separately)

  • When injecting odorant into a sub-cartridge, perform the work by following the procedures listed in the Help Guide or the Startup Guide.
  • Up to 0.66 mL of odorant can be injected. If more than 0.66 mL is injected, the odorant may leak and cause the unit to smell or malfunction.
  • In the event that the odorant leaks, wear protective gloves and wipe it off appropriately with a cloth, etc. according to the odorant.
  • A sub-cartridge can only be used once. Do not reuse a sub-cartridge that was injected with an odorant one time.
  • Do not subject the cartridges or sub-cartridges to strong impact such as dropping them on the floor. Doing so may cause them to malfunction.

Storage

  • To prevent contamination and deterioration, do not store the unit or nose guides, odorant release port covers, custom cartridges, sub-cartridges, or cartridge clampers, which are separately purchased accessories, in locations with high temperatures, direct sunlight, high humidity, strong odors, etc.
  • Store cartridges equipped with sub-cartridges that have injected odorants under conditions that are suitable for the odorants used.

Please note that Sony cannot make any guarantees regarding malfunction, failure, or damage to the dedicated tablet caused by connecting to the Internet, except when instructed by the manufacturer or dealer.
