Recording Continuously as a Single Clip (Clip Continuous Recording)
Normally, a clip is created as an independent file each time you start and stop recording. However, this function allows you to start and stop recording while continuously recording to the same clip, for as long as the function remains enabled.
This is convenient when you do not want to generate a large number of short clips, and when you want to record without worrying about exceeding the clip limit.
It is still easy to find recording start points, because a recording start mark is recorded at the recording start point each time you start recording.
Configuring before shooting
Set [Clip Continuous Rec] – [Setting] to [On] on the [Project] status screen to turn on clip continuous recording mode. “Cont Stby” is displayed on the LCD monitor.
Hint
- Can also be configured using [Project] – [Clip Continuous Rec] in the full menu.
- You can also assign [Clip Continuous Rec] on/off switching to an assignable button.
Note
- Clip continuous recording cannot be turned on at the same time as Slow & Quick Motion, interval recording, picture cache recording, 2-slot simultaneous recording, or 4K & HD (Sub) recording. When clip continuous recording is turned on, these other recording modes are forcibly turned off.
Restoring a memory card will not restore the recording start marks. - Clip continuous recording mode cannot be used while recording.
Recording in clip continuous recording mode
Press the record START/STOP button to start recording. The “Cont Stby” display changes to “Cont
Rec” (
is red) on the LCD monitor.
Note
- During recording or in recording standby mode (when the “Cont Stby” indication is displayed), if you remove the memory card, the battery, or the power source, the memory card needs to be restored. Exit clip continuous recording mode and then remove the memory card. When the “Cont Stby” indication is flashing (once per second), you can remove the memory card.
Restoring a memory card will not restore the recording start marks. - Stop the recording after recording for two or more seconds.
To exit clip continuous recording mode
During recording standby, set [Clip Continuous Rec] – [Setting] to [Off] on the [Project] status screen.
