Network Functions

The unit can connect to a mobile device, such as a smartphone or tablet, allowing you to control the unit remotely from a mobile device. The unit can also be connected to the Internet to transfer files and to use various services.

Note

  • When using any network connection device attached to the unit, radio waves emitted by the device may cause noise to be recorded in the audio. In this case, keep the network connection device away from the unit.
  • Remote control

    You can control the unit remotely from a mobile device while viewing the camera image or playback image.

    Note

    • If unauthorized access is detected, the camera may become unable to accept communications. If this occurs, reconnect from the beginning.
  • File transfer

    You can transfer a proxy clip or original clip that is recorded on a memory card in the unit to a cloud server via the Internet.

  • Streaming

    You can stream the camera image of the unit using the RTMP/RTMPS or SRT streaming protocols.

“Monitor & Control” application

This application allows you to set the white balance and exposure settings, focus, and other parameters while monitoring the image of the unit on the screen of a mobile device.

“Creators' App for Enterprise” application

This application supports the following functions.

  • Synchronizing the clock of the unit
    Sets the unit to the time and time zone of the mobile device.
  • Recording location data on the unit
    Location data obtained by the mobile device is sent to the unit. This unit records location data in clips and embeds it in the SDI output.
  • Transferring files from the unit to the “C3 Portal” and “Ci Media Cloud” cloud services
    The application supports easy connection to the camera and efficient file transfer using a smartphone. For details, refer to the Help Guide for the application.

To use the file transfer function, a “C3 Portal” or “Ci Media Cloud” account is required.

For details about obtaining an account, contact the administrator of your organization.

 

The following functions are also supported using Bluetooth connection.

  • Synchronizing the clock of the unit to a mobile device
  • Recording location data obtained from a mobile device in clips and embedding it in the SDI output

Note that a “C3 Portal” account is not required for these functions.

  • Cloud services, applications, or some functions may not be available, depending on the region in which you live.

“Camera Remote SDK”

This is a development environment provided by Sony for software developers to develop solutions and applications using Sony cameras. Using this SDK allows developers to remotely control Sony cameras from a host PC and to develop unique applications for shooting and monitoring.
