Recording Location Data

Location data obtained from a smartphone can be recorded in clips and embedded in the metadata of the SDI output by connecting the unit to the “Creators' App for Enterprise” smartphone app via Bluetooth.

  1. Install the “Creators' App for Enterprise” application on the smartphone.

  2. Set [Technical] – [GPS] – [Location by Mobile App] to [On] in the full menu.

  3. If not paired with a smartphone using Bluetooth, execute [Network] – [Bluetooth] – [Pairing] in the full menu.

  4. Launch “Creators' App for Enterprise” on the smartphone.

Then, follow the instructions on the “Creators' App for Enterprise” screen.

For details, refer to the “Creators' App for Enterprise” Help Guide.

Hint

  • If the unit does not respond correctly, check the following and pair the devices again.

    • Check that the unit is not connected via Bluetooth to another device.
    • Cancel the pairing with all device using [Network] – [Bluetooth] – [Manage Paired Device] in the full menu.
    • On the smartphone, delete all the pairing information related to the unit.
    • If the problem persists, execute [Network] – [Network Reset] – [Reset] in the full menu.

Note

  • When the unit is Bluetooth paired with multiple smartphones, the location is obtained from the first instance of “Creators' App for Enterprise” that is found. Check that the connected smartphone is the intended one. Cancel the pairing for devices you are not using, as required.
  • The location data update frequency follows the “Creators' App for Enterprise” specifications. For details, refer to the “Creators' App for Enterprise” Help Guide.
  • If you publish or share videos shot with this product on the Internet while location data is linked using the “Creators' App for Enterprise,” the shooting location may be unintentionally made known to third parties. To avoid this issue, set [Technical] – [GPS] – [Location by Mobile App] to [Off] in the full menu of the unit before shooting.
  • When the unit is initialized, the pairing information is cleared. If you delete the pairing information from your smartphone, pair the devices again.
  • If Bluetooth communication is unstable, make sure there are no obstacles, such as other persons or metallic objects, between the unit and the smartphone.
  • If large volume communication is in progress, such as when streaming using the wireless LAN 2.4 GHz band, the Bluetooth function operation may become unstable. For high-volume communication, consider using a wired LAN connection.
  • When making a Bluetooth connection, only pair with devices you trust. Avoid random pairing requests or connections to unknown devices.
  • When not using the Bluetooth function, turn the Bluetooth function off.
  • Check the list of paired devices regularly and remove any unnecessary devices.
  • If you delete the pairing information for the camera from your smartphone, delete the smartphone pairing information from [Manage Paired Device].
