Connecting devices with jacks other than HDMI jacks

Connect each device to the video jack and audio jack on the rear panel of the receiver.

Before connecting cables, be sure to disconnect the AC power cord.

When connecting devices with video cables, an optical digital cable, and a coaxial digital audio cable (recommended)

Illustration of connecting the receiver and devices using the video and audio cables. The VIDEO IN and AUDIO IN jacks of the receiver are labeled with input names. Use the VIDEO IN and AUDIO IN jacks marked with the same names in combination. For devices with DIGITAL COAXIAL OUTPUT jacks, we recommend using a coaxial digital cable instead of an audio cable for connection. In this case, connect the COAXIAL IN (SA-CD/CD) jack on the rear of the receiver with the DIGITAL COAXIAL OUTPUT jack on the rear of the device using a coaxial digital cable (not supplied).

Hint

  • You can rename each input so that the name can be displayed on the display panel of the receiver. For details, see “Changing the name for each input (Name).”
  • The image quality depends on the connecting jack. We recommend that you connect your devices via an HDMI connection if they have HDMI jacks.
