Connecting Using Wi-Fi to a Camera Configured as an Access Point (Wi-Fi Direct connection) (ILME-FX3/ILME-FX30/ILCE-9M3/ILCE-1/ILCE-7SM3/ILCE-7RM5/ILCE-7M4/ZV-E1)

You can connect to a camera from a mobile device using Wi-Fi (Wi-Fi Direct connection) if the camera is configured as an access point.

  • In a Wi-Fi Direct connection, only one mobile device can be connected to the camera at a time.

  1. : Press the MENU (Menu) button to display the menu.
  2. : Select (Network) – [Wi-Fi] – [Wi-Fi Connect] – [Off].
  3. : Select (Network) – [Cnct./Remote Sht] – [Remote Shoot Function] – [Wi-Fi Direct Info.] – [OK].
  4. : Leave the SSID and password displayed in step 3 on the screen.
  5. : Configure the following settings on the mobile device to connect the mobile device to the camera access point.

    On Android:

    1. Select [Settings] – [Network & internet] – [Internet].
    2. Enable [Wi-Fi].
    3. Select the camera access point from the network list.
    4. Enter the password displayed in step 4.

    On iOS/iPadOS:

    1. Select [Settings] – [Wi-Fi].
    2. Enable [Wi-Fi].
    3. Select the camera access point from the network list.
    4. Enter the password displayed in step 4.

    Note

    • The menu structure may vary depending on your mobile device.
    • If an access point (tethering) is enabled on a mobile device, disable the setting.
  6. : Launch the app and tap (App menu) – [Connect].
  7. : Select [Wi-Fi] on the connection screen.

  8. : Tap [Connect] for the camera to connect on the connection screen.
