When shooting continuously, the restrictions on high shutter speeds near maximum aperture are lifted, allowing shutter speeds up to 1/80000 second to be used at all available aperture values.
This function can be used when the camera’s system software (firmware) is Ver.3.00 or later.
  1. MENU(Exposure/Color) → [Exposure][Exp. Value Expand] → desired setting.

On:
High shutter speeds up to 1/80000 second are available at all aperture values.
However, when using high shutter speeds near maximum aperture, image quality may be affected.
Off:
Limits high shutter speeds near maximum aperture, minimizing the impact on image quality.
  • When the F-value is less than 1.8, the upper limit of the shutter speed is 1/16000 second.
  • When the F-value is 1.0 or less, the upper limit of the shutter speed is 1/8000 second.

Hint

  • When [Exp. Value Expand] is set to [On], bars are displayed above and below the shutter speed and aperture value icons on the shooting screen and in the main menu.
