REC Mode

You can select your desired image quality for AVCHD movies. The recording time or the type of media device to which the images can be copied may differ, depending on the movie quality selected.

Descriptions of menu items

When [ File Format] is set to [ XAVC S 4K], [60Mbps ] or [100Mbps ] can be selected.

When [ File Format] is set to [ XAVC S HD], you can only select [50Mbps ] during normal recording; and [60Mbps ] or [100Mbps ] during [High Speed REC].

When [ File Format] is set to [ AVCHD]:

Highest Quality :
Records a movie in the highest quality possible (when in 60i (*)/50i (**)/24p (*)/25p (**)).
High Quality :
Records a higher quality movie (when in 60i (*)/50i (**)/24p (*)/25p (**)).
Standard :
Records a standard quality movie (when in 60i (*)/50i (**)).
Long Time :
Records a long movie (when in 60i (*)/50i (**)).
60p Quality (*)/50p Quality (**)
Records a movie in 60p (*)/50p (**).

Hint

  • Types of media that images can be saved on will depend on the image quality selected.
    • 60p Quality (*)/50p Quality (**)/Highest Quality :

      Memory card, USB external hard disk, Blu-ray discs

    • High Quality /Standard /Long Time :

      Memory card, USB external hard disk, Blu-ray discs, AVCHD recording discs

* 1080 60i-compatible device: [60p Quality ] can be set only when the [ Frame Rate] is set to [60p].

** 1080 50i-compatible device: [50p Quality ] can be set only when the [ Frame Rate] is set to [50p].
