Controlling the aircraft with two remote controllers (dual operation mode)

You can link two remote controllers to the aircraft and use them as main and sub controllers (dual operation mode). You can control the aircraft and gimbal or camera with the main controller and control the camera and gimbal with the sub controller.

  1. Turn off both remote controllers.
  2. On the remote controller that you want to use to operate the aircraft, press and hold the (Power) button for at least 2 seconds to turn the power on.
  3. Tap [Start flight] on the “Airpeak Flight” App Home page.
The flight screen will be displayed.
  4. Tap (Settings) in the top right of the screen.
  5. Tap [Remote controller] in the displayed setting menu.
  6. Tap [Connection].
  7. Tap [Main] for [Operation role].

The first remote controller that was turned on in step 2 above will be set to operate the aircraft (Main).

[Operation role] is a setting that assigns the operation target of two remote controllers.

    • [Main]: Assigns the remote controller to operate the aircraft and gimbal or camera. To operate the gimbal or camera, you must first perform control assignment. Select this when operating with a single remote controller.
    • [Sub]: Assigns the remote controller to operate the camera and gimbal.
  8. Tap [Link] for [Link to aircraft].
The remote controller you are operating will be linked with the aircraft as the main controller and the status LED will light up in blue.
  9. Tap [Dual] for [Operation mode].

The connected aircraft will enter the dual operation mode and be ready to connect to the remote controller that operates the camera and gimbal (Sub).

[Operation mode] is a setting that selects the number of remote controllers that can be used simultaneously.

    • [Single]: Connects a single remote controller to the aircraft. The remote controller operates the aircraft, gimbal, and camera.
    • [Dual]: Connects two remote controllers to the aircraft. One of the controllers operates the aircraft and gimbal or camera, while the other operates the camera and gimbal.
  10. Perform steps 2 to 6 on the remote controller you want to use to operate the camera and gimbal, and then tap [Sub] for [Operation role].
The second remote controller will be set as the controller to operate the camera and gimbal.
  11. Tap [Link] for [Link to aircraft].
The second remote controller will be linked with the aircraft as the sub controller and the status LED will light up in purple.

Hint

  • If the second remote controller cannot be linked, turn off the first remote controller, and then reattempt the linking operation.
  • The gimbal operations are assigned to the control sticks on the sub controller.
  • In the dual operation mode, operations are accepted from the remote controller that operated the gimbal or camera first. Also, when the gimbal or camera is being operated by one of the remote controllers, operations from the other remote controller are not accepted.
  • If you want to switch the main and sub controllers, turn off one of the remote controllers, and then change the settings.
  • When you reset [Operation mode] to [Single] on the main controller, the sub controller becomes disconnected from the aircraft.
