Writing the remote ID to the aircraft

To fly aircraft, it is necessary to register and obtain approval for your drone (unmanned aircraft) on the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) website, and the aircraft must be flown with the remote ID function activated. When entering aircraft information in the FAA registration system, register a 12-digit number (17287 + aircraft serial number) for the manufacturing number.

Before flights, write the remote ID to the aircraft by the steps below.

  1. Tap [Start flight] on the “Airpeak Flight” App Home page.
The flight screen will be displayed.
  2. Tap [General] in the displayed setting menu.
  3. Tap [Systems].
  4. Tap [Write] for [Remote ID].
  5. In the displayed screen, select [United States], and then tap [Next].
  6. Enter the remote ID assigned to the aircraft to the input field, and then tap [Write Remote ID to aircraft].
When the message [Remote ID has been written] is displayed, writing the remote ID to the aircraft is complete.

Note

  • Please use Mobile phone/tablet with GPS function to support remote ID.
  • For iPad, only cellular models are equipped with GPS. Therefore, a cellular model is required to use the remote ID function. An internet connection is required to register the number.
However, there is no need to install a SIM.
  • Mobile phone/tablet connected to the remote controller must minimally be one of the following:
    1) FCC Certified personal wireless device that uses GPS with SBAS (WAAS) for location services; or
    2) FCC Certified personal wireless device with integrated GNSS.
Also, mobile phone/tablet must be operated in a way that does not interfere with the location Reported and its correlation to the operator location.
