About PTZ Auto Framing
The unit is equipped with a PTZ auto framing function that recognizes subjects and automatically adjusts the camera direction and zoom position.
PTZ auto framing has a “Person” mode that tracks people, and a “Ball Sports (Basketball)” mode that tracks ball sports from an elevated view. “Person” mode has “manual tracking start mode” in which you can start tracking a person manually, and “auto tracking start mode” in which tracking of a person will start automatically when people enter an area configured beforehand.
-
“Person” mode
- For details about manual tracking start mode, see “Specifying the Subjects for Automatic Tracking (Person manual tracking start mode).”
- For details about auto tracking start mode, see “Selecting Subjects in a Specified Position and Tracking Automatically (Person auto tracking start mode).”
-
“Ball Sports (Basketball)” mode
For details about “Ball Sports (Basketball)” mode, see “Tracking Ball Sports (Basketball) Automatically from an Elevated Position.”
Set the mode to use before using this function using the procedure described in “Configuring PTZ Auto Framing Initial Settings (“Person” mode).”
Note
- During PTZ auto framing, the information displayed on the camera image is minimal.
- During auto focus, the specified main subject is the focus target in “Person” mode, or the entire court in “Ball Sports (Basketball)” mode. To focus on something else, set to manual focus.
- Settings related to auto focus cannot be changed during PTZ auto framing operation.
- Proper auto tracking operation may not be possible if the camera focus, exposure, or shutter is not set properly, or due to factors such as the shooting environment (for example, brightness), the shooting angle (extremely high angle or low angle), or the density, size, clothing, movement, or obscuring of people.
- The full effectiveness of the face recognition function may not be obtained if any of the following conditions exist.
- Face is not looking toward the front.
- Face is obscured (sunglasses, mask, etc.).
- Facial expression has extreme changes (eyes closed, mouth wide open, angry, etc.).
- If the [Zoom Type], [Tele Convert], [S&Q Motion], [P/T Range Limit], or [P/T Direction] – [Ceiling] setting is changed, reconfigure the settings on the [Start Position] screen, [Detection Settings] screen, [Tracking Range] screen, and [Court Settings] screen of the PTZ AFR settings screen. For details see “Configuring PTZ Auto Framing Initial Settings (“Person” mode)” or “Tracking Ball Sports (Basketball) Automatically from an Elevated Position.”
- When using a DC IN power supply, PTZ auto framing may stop or become unusable if the input voltage is low.
- PTZ auto framing cannot be executed during thumbnail display, playback, Rec Review, color bars display, flange focal distance (flange back) auto adjustment, and when HDMI output is not possible.
- Do not press the
(Cancel restore) button on the preset position control panel during tracking operation. Unintentional consequences may occur.
