Changing the Distribution of Dark and Bright Areas in the Recorded Video Information

In [Cine EI] / [Cine EI Quick] mode, you can change the distribution between dark and bright areas by changing [Exposure Index] from the base sensitivity, for example, when you want to prioritize the tonal range of dark areas over bright areas.

  1. Select [Shooting] – [LUT On/Off] – [ LCD Monitor/VF] – [LUT On] in the full menu.
  2. Sets the EI gain value for log shooting mode ([Cine EI] / [Cine EI Quick]) using [Shooting] – [Exposure Index] – [EI Select] in the full menu.
  3. Adjust the exposure so that the image on the LCD monitor/viewfinder is correct.

Hint

  • The second number of the set value indicates the number of stops of information assigned to bright areas (areas brighter than 18% gray). Areas brighter than this will be overexposed (blown out).
Example: “400EI / 5.0E” allocates 5.0 stops to the bright side.

Note

  • Gamma display assist is enabled during focus magnification. The [Exposure Index] setting is not applied to gamma display assist.
