Fast Auto Focus (Single AF (AF-S))

In manual focus mode or auto focus mode, you can press an assignable button assigned with [Single-shot AF(AF-S)] to temporarily enable fast auto focus. Releasing the button before focus is achieved will cancel the operation.

The focus status is displayed by the focus indicator.

  • Lit: Focusing is fixed at the focus position.
  • Flashing: Out of focus. Since the camera cannot perform auto focus, adjust the composition and focus settings.

The focus returns to manual focus or auto focus when you release the button.

This is useful for quickly focusing before shooting.

Hint

  • The same operation is supported using [Grab Button (Half Press)] assigned with [Single-shot AF(AF-S)].

Note

  • If manual focus has been set on the lens itself, [Single-shot AF(AF-S)] will not function.
  • When [Project] – [Assignable Button] – [Grab Button] is set to other than [Off], [Grab Button (Half Press)] is set to [Off].
