Focus Map

When shooting video, areas that are in focus and areas that are out of focus are displayed so that you can visually distinguish them. Areas behind the in-focus region are indicated by dots in a cool color (A) and those in front of the in-focus region are indicated by dots in a warm color (B). Dots are not displayed in the in-focus range. Dots are not recorded in the actual video.

Turn the focus map on/off using [Monitoring] – [Focus Map] – [Setting] in the full menu.

Note

  • [Focus Map] is unavailable in the following cases.

    • During false color display
    • During video signal monitor display
    • During focus magnification
    • When not shooting (for example, during playback or thumbnail display)
    • When the de-squeeze display setting is other than [Off(1.0x)]
    • When the attached lens does not support focal plane phase detection AF
