Playing a Clip
You can play recorded clips when the unit is in recording standby (Stby) mode.
- Insert the memory card to play.

Press the CLIPS button.
The clip list screen for the active playback media is displayed on the LCD monitor. - Use the multi selector or multi-function dial to move the cursor to the clip you want to start playback.

Press the multi selector apply button or multi-function dial.
Playback begins from the start of the selected clip. You can also start playback by tapping the thumbnail (reduced image).
Note
- The unit does not perform continuous playback.
About playback operations
You can control playback using the following buttons.
Press the multi selector or multi-function dial, or tap the playback image:
Pauses playback.
Press again to resume normal playback.
Press the multi selector left/right buttons, or flick the playback image left/right:
Jumps to start of clip or the start of previous/next clip.
Press and hold the multi selector left/right buttons:
Fast reverse/forward.
Returns to normal playback when you release the button.
BACK button:
Pauses playback and returns to the shooting screen.
The shooting screen or Home screen appears.
To control playback using buttons on the playback operation screen
When the LCD monitor is in information display mode, playback can still be controlled using buttons on the playback operation screen.
[Play/Pause] button: Pauses playback. Press again to resume normal playback.
[Prev] button / [Next] button: Jumps to start of clip or the start of previous/next clip.
[F Fwd] button /[F Rev] button: Fast forward/reverse.
Press the [Play/Pause] button to return to normal playback.
[Stop/Clips] button: Stops playback and returns to the clip list screen.
Hint
- When viewing playback video on an external monitor, you can control playback using the playback operation screen and buttons on the LCD monitor.
- The playback operation screen appears when you press the CLIPS button to display the clip list screen from the Home screen and then select a clip.
Monitoring audio
In normal playback mode, you can monitor the recorded audio using the built-in speaker or headphones.
Connecting a set of headphones to the headphone connector turns off the built-in speaker.
Select the channel to monitor and adjust the volume using [Audio] – [Audio Output] – [Monitor CH] and [Volume] in the full menu.
[Headphone Live/Processed] setting
Set [Audio] – [Audio Output] – [Headphone Live/Processed] to [Live] in the full menu to output audio without latency. Select this when monitoring audio if concerned about audio delay.
Set to [Processed] to check the effects of the noise cut filter and zoom noise filter functions while monitoring the audio during shooting. The audio and video are synchronized for output.
Hint
- The unit supports a screen display/menu screen reader function.
Switching memory cards
When two memory cards are inserted, press an assignable button assigned with [Slot Select] on the clip list screen to switch cards.
Note
- You cannot switch the memory cards during playback. Also, continuous playback from card slot A to card slot B is not supported
Hint
- You can also assign [Slot Select] to [User 1] to [User 6] on the user functions screen.
- When a clip that was recorded in log shooting mode is played back, the LUT used when shooting is applied. The LUT to apply is determined from the saved 3D LUT file metadata information.
If the clip was recorded when [Project] – [Base Setting] – [Cine EI/Flexible ISO Setting] – [Embed LUT File] is set to [On] in the full menu when shooting, that LUT is applied during playback if the 3D LUT file used when shooting is installed on the unit.
If the clip was recorded when [Project] – [Base Setting] – [Cine EI/Flexible ISO Setting] – [Embed LUT File] is set to [Off] in the full menu when shooting, the LUT selected using [Paint/Look] – [Base Look] – [Select] in the full menu is applied during playback.
The same LUT is applied if the 3D LUT file used when shooting is not installed on the unit.
