Adjusting the Focus Manually

To adjust the focus manually, set [Shooting] – [Focus] – [Focus Operation] to [Manual Focus] in the full menu.

Manual focusing is useful for the following types of subjects.

  • Subjects on the far side of a window covered in water droplets
  • Subjects with low contrast against the background
  • Subjects further away than nearby subjects
  • When focus is lost due to a large change in the ambient temperature (changes due to the temperature characteristics of the lens)

Hint

  • If you wait 10 minutes or more after turning on the unit before adjusting the focus, the camera will maintain stable focus. In addition, if the ambient temperature fluctuates significantly, you can maintain optimal shooting conditions by re-adjusting the focus.

  • You can also assign [Focus Operation] to [User 1] to [User 6] on the user functions screen.
