Outputting RAW movies to an external RAW recorder

When shooting movies, RAW movies can be output to an external recorder connected to this camera via HDMI. Use a Premium High Speed HDMI cable (sold separately) to output RAW movies

The image size output for RAW movies is 4332 × 2446 pixels.

  1. Use a Premium High Speed HDMI cable (sold separately) to connect the HDMI Type A terminal on the camera to the HDMI input terminal on the external RAW recorder.
  2. Set the Still/Movie/S&Q dial to (Movie) to select the movie recording mode.
  3. On the camera, select MENU → (Setup) → [External Output] → [HDMI Output Settings] → [RAW Output] → [On].
  4. On the camera, select MENU → (Setup) → [External Output] → [HDMI Output Settings] → [RAW Output Setting] → the desired frame rate. ([60p] / [50p] / [30p] / [25p] / [24p])
    Set the following items as necessary.
    • Rec. Media dur HDMI Output
    • Time Code Output
    • REC Control
    • 4ch Audio Output

  5. Press the MOVIE (Movie) button on the camera to start recording.

Hint

  • For information on how to operate the external RAW recorder, refer to the recorder’s instruction manual.
  • When outputting RAW movies to another device connected via HDMI, set [Log Shooting] under [Log Shooting Setting] to [On (Flexible ISO)]. The setting for [Color Gamut] under [Log Shooting Setting] is applied to RAW movies output via HDMI.

Note

  • If you perform recording operations using an external recorder instead of using the MOVIE (Movie) button on the camera, recording may not be performed correctly.
